According to the American Diabetes Association, oranges do not raise blood sugar at all, because their glycemic index is low, at only 4 degrees.

Moreover, oranges are characterized by their high content of dietary fiber, which contributes to blood sugar control, by slowing the absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, and preventing them from quickly reaching the bloodstream.

This is the conclusion of a review of 15 studies, where researchers found that the dietary fiber in oranges contributed to lowering blood sugar in people with diabetes.
